Festival of the Little Hills 2018

Festival of the Little Hills 2018

Aside from the holiday season, the Festival of the Little Hills may be the most anticipated time of the year for many of the small businesses on Historic Main Street in St. Charles, Missouri.

This year was the 47th annual Festival of the Little Hills—the premier arts and craft show in the Midwest. Each year, the festival celebrates the rich history of St. Charles and showcases more than 300 vendors, craft demonstrations and antique dealers along Main Street.

Quick history fact—“Little Hills” comes from the location that gave the city of St. Charles its original name, Les Petites Cotes which was founded by French Canadian explorer Louis Blanchette.

As you can imagine, the foot traffic on Main Street during this time is elevated. So, we stocked up on product, spruced up our displays, and extended our store hours to accommodate this eclectic St. Louis favorite festival which has guests that return annually from all over the country.

Our storefront was conveniently placed between the scrumptious Grandma’s Cookies’ tent (a local favorite) and an old fashioned fresh-squeezed lemonade set-up— both of which came in clutch because the FR & Co team members all have a nagging sweet tooth. Another great perk to being on Main Street during the Festival of the Little Hills is that we have the best playlist—live music! This year (2018), Trixie Delight and Dr. Zhivegas were the headliners.

We enjoyed seeing many familiar and new faces of all ages during the three-day weekend extravaganza. It’s always a treat to watch customers’ reactions to seeing our products for the first time. Our tea towel rack collected an endless supply of smiles and laughs. See our humorous collection of tea towels

We love being a part of Main Street and all the fun events that happen throughout the year. See you next year, Festival of the Little Hills!
